
On April 27th, Jim Oliver's Smokehouse Restaurant, a well known restaurant and live music burnt to the ground after 61 years of operation. Located just off of I-24 in Monteagle, TN, Jim Oliver's Smokehouse Restaurant was not only a tourist attraction for many who traveled to Tennessee, but a place many residents frequented including our own local musicians. On Saturday, the community and musicians came together for a rally and prayer gathering to support the employees, family, and friends in this difficult time. ![]() Johnny earned his first major music award on January 27th, this year with his song, “Never Really Famous” in the Country Music category for a Hollywood Music in Media Award. “I’ve met some pretty fantastic folks in Arab,” says Johnny Collier “and I’m so proud to be entertaining at this years’ Poke Salat Festival. I can’t wait to see everyone again. I always plan a little extra time to hang around the merchandise table after the show so we can talk to the folks who come out to see us. Charlie Allen and Johnny Garcia took the stage Saturday in Manchester, TN at Praters BBQ performing a variety of original music and favorite tunes to local patrons. Charlie Allen debuted his most recent single "Whiskey God & Jones" during the evening.
Charlie Allen is a world renowned songwriter in the music industry and has written for many artists. He has released many songs and albums of his own including "If Jesus Came this Year?", "Dying to Be Seen", "No Welcome Home", "Grandpa's Recipe" and many more.
Johnny Garcia, a Texas native, moved to the Nashville area in 1991 and has been performing, producing, and songwriting. Johnny is also known for playing guitar for Trisha Yearwood as well as being her music director.
Praters BBQ is well known for its ribs as well as its ribeye steaks, specialty sandwiches, burgers, catfish and hand-battered fried chicken and hosts live music most weekends at its Manchester location. Visit their Facebook page and website for information on upcoming events.

This year the Third Annual May Day Music Festival helps a Music Brother in need! Kerry Gilbert a well known singer/songwriter has been battling cancer for some time now. He has strength of a thousand guitarist and is now going to battle again. We are here to help raise money for Mr. Gilbert and help take the stress of bills off him while he battles!

Music is back and starting 2021 off strong, Praters BBQ Manchester kicked off their new music year with Wayd Battle and his band. Great music, Lip smacking BBQ, How does it get better than this!
Wayd Battle is a two-time Grammy-nominated producer, singer-songwriter, engineer, and guitarist.
His production works include "That Lonesome Song" and "The Guitar Song" albums by Jamey Johnson and The Kentucky Headhunters "Dixie Lullabies". His songs have been used in movies such as "Country Strong" and recorded by artists such as Jamey Johnson, Brett Eldridge, Jerrod Niemann, Brantley Gilbert, The Kentucky Headhunters, Christian Kane, Jamie Richards, Adam Hood, Brandon Rhyder, and many more.
As a guitarist his work can be heard on records from Jamey Johnson, Anthony Smith, The Kentucky Headhunters, ZZ Top - A tribute from friends, The Music Inside - Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings, The Imus Ranch record, with appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS and The Tonite Show Jay Leno on NBC.
Wayd is currently working with famed actor and country chart-topper John Schneider.
