WilderadoThis week's menu  we feature an American indie folk rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wilderado!  The band is Max Rainer (lead singer, guitarist), Tyler Wimpee (guitarist, vocals), Justin Kila (drums), David Arthur Stimson (bass), Jack Malonis (multi-instrumentalist).  First formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2015, Wilderado's Max Rainer and Tyler Wimpee met through mutual friends in college and started writing songs together in their fifth year after most of their friends had left. In the first few years released several EPs and a lot of singles. Those garnered the band thousands of streams and a following. It kept them on the road on a pretty intense touring schedule for several years, sharing bills with bands like alt-J, Mt. Joy and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.  Having released their debut album in 2021, they've achieved a new level of fans and got to perform on CBS's Sunday Morning show in September! Cousin Corey talks with Max on this week's Blue Plate Special

This week's show features Molly Moore with music from Peking Duk, Notelle, Kula Shaker, 408, Dancing on Tables, Little Hurt, Wilderado, Glume, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Puscifer, Crosses, and Motherland! Hosted by Cousin Corey.

Molly MooreThis week's menu  we feature a New York native who now is a singer-songwriter & producer based in Los Angeles, California, Molly Moore!  Molly Moore is a songstress who’s music speaks to a 5G generation. With straight-shooting lyrics, soulful timbre, & a psychedelically spun style, Molly effortlessly transcends eras. Through her raw thoughts & genuine anthems, Molly has embraced the changes in her life. From the unexpected passing of her father & the turbulent ending of a five-year relationship; Molly’s music serves as a vehicle for finding one's voice and discovering the light within.  Born in the Bronx to a musician as a father and a healer as a mother, Moore was raised in a eclectic household in Hastings on Hudson, NY. Inspired by strong female artists like Aretha Franklin, Alanis Morissette, Beyonce & Gwen Stefani, Moore leans into her powerful vocal prowess & introspective lyricism alongside lush musical landscapes. At 18, Moore graduated from high school 6 months early to focus on recording music. The next year, she moved to Los Angeles & began pursuing a career as a songwriter. Molly started releasing music independently, receiving strong support from Spotify, iTunes & tastemaker blogs which caused the first single to go viral & chart in many territories. While carving out a career as a solo artist, Moore is also ½ of the progressive pop duo Cosmos & Creature with EMAN8 (Brandyn Burnette). As a young female in the music industry, Moore has bigger dreams than just her budding music career. Now at the forefront of the independent music scene, Molly hopes to be a strong voice for female entrepreneurs. Whether it’s for herself, for another artist, or for her community, Molly is making a difference. Cousin Corey talks with her on this week's Blue Plate Special

Lauren Frihauf

You might recognize Lauren from Season 19 of NBC's "The Voice", where she made it to the Knockout Rounds on Teams Gwen and Legend, or lately, from her feature in NPR Music's Tiny Desk 'Top Shelf'!
She also competed on the Grinder House stage for the 2022 Tennessee Songwriter Competition Qualifying Round, and chosen as an alternate to move on to the next level. We really enjoyed meeting and getting to know more about Lauren and so, invited her back to the 'In the House' stage.

Her first original releases are part of a collaboration project with guitarist Ben Suyat. The two began writing music while at the School of Rock, staying after weekly house band rehearsals to work out their tunes. Their first song, "Adaline", won the notice of judges Kix Brooks, Pat Higdon, and Shane Minor at the 2020 Tennessee Songwriter Week Qualifying Round at Arrington Vineyards. Influences from John Mayer, Steely Dan, and the Grateful Dead can be heard in Suyat's lush guitar melodies. Their latest release, "Morrison" will be followed by an official video and "The Latona EP" later this summer!

Lauren's songwriting is intricate, personal, and authentic, and her vocals have been compared to Amber Navran of Moonchild, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and Amy Winehouse. The urban vibe of her music is a surprising juxtaposition to the rural eastern Colorado farm where she lives and creates.
Her recent feature in Tiny Desk 'Top Shelf' is a nod to the debut solo project she can't wait to share with the world!
