8/13/2022 - "In the House" at The Grinder House - Travis Bigwood and the Lonesome Doves
"I started writing songs because I wanted to tell a story. I wanted to share the anthology of my experiences growing up in East Tennessee and feel that connection that only music can bring. I try to capture the sound of the hardships and all the goodness that echoes through these mountains."
"In the House" at the Grinder House is broadcast live on WFMC Jams every Saturday from 6-8pm central.
One of the hardest working, independent women in the music business, Amanda Pruitt, does things the old fashion way. With four records and two EPs under her belt, Amanda is also a creative storyteller and a living gypsy with a sound that will touch your soul. Touring across America in a small SUV with her guitar and one big story to tell- this unique and original sweetheart is not giving up!
If the strong country roots, soulful sounds , a modern twist and stories from the heart could be melted together into one unified sound...you’d have a voice like Amanda's. Her sound is organic to say the least and mixes well within Americana, Classic and Traditional Country, Rock and Roll, Blues and even some good ole’ southern gospel. "Gospel music is where my heart and soul meet," said Amanda, "Without my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I would not be here and I HAVE to give him all the credit for everything I am doing."
Amanda has released five full projects, (Let It Go, Read Between the Lines, Something Will Give and Needle In a Groove, she has a gospel album, (Not Turning Back); an EP (Strong) and the new Gospel EP (Break Me) released in February 2021, with proceeds benefiting St. Jude Rides. Amanda plans on releasing tons of music over the next few years. "We have to get back to where we came from." She is determined to make a living, playing music and to bring people hope while doing so and never giving up. "I ain't no queen of hearts, but hit me, keep them cards coming my way," Amanda laughs.
Holding a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Performing Arts, she has the talent, education, professionalism and skills to succeed. Music is not her only asset, her determination, strength and God-fearing spirit are propelling her to stardom. Amanda is an Alumni of Wentworth Military Academy, Central Missouri State University and Texas A&M University.
Singing on stage since she was four-years-old, Amanda has many years of stories behind the mic. Writing poetry since the age of five and eventually turning them to songs, Amanda is a one-of-a-kind storyteller with authentic spice. She claims that this is one of the most brutal businesses and wants nothing more but to be GOOD and KIND in every environment she has an opportunity of bringing light in. Amanda works with several young women in the music business in development and stage presence and is currently developing a Troubadora platform for touring women who BRING IT!
In the final stages of her first book being published, Amanda is also an author. She plans on releasing two books over the next few years in comedy and inspiration.
Amanda performs both as a duo, trio and a full band who consist of top of the line musicians from all over the country. Be on the lookout for Amanda to be in a town near you very soon.
