Robby's songwriting credits include several songs cowritten with Country Music Songwriters Hall of Fame member, Kim Williams. Hopkins is inspired by another cowriter, Doug Johnson, who wrote "Three Wooden Crosses" with Kim Williams, "Last of the Cowboys", a song cowritten by Tony Justice, Jeff Silvey, and Cody Purvis is one of the top trucker songs. Currently, "Last of the Cowboys" has almost 4 million YouTube views:
Hopkins plays regularly at the renowned Bluebird Café in Nashville. On his first visit there, the host commented that he “stole the show”. WDVX Knoxville’s Writers Block show hosts named him the “Best of the Best”, and he was named “Best Country Artist” for the Chattanooga, TN area. Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival calls him a “Hot Songwriter to Watch”
Robby was born in Spencer, Tennessee into a musically gifted family, and grew up in Northwest Georgia. His grandmother taught him his first guitar chords when he was eight, and he wrote his first song at age sixteen. He's often recognized for his ease on stage and for his voice – often compared to some of his favorite country greats -- Vern Gosdin, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, & Ronnie Dunn. Robby's music is playing on country radio including Chattanooga's WUSY US-101, WUUQ Classic Country 97.3/99.3, and 107.9 NASH Icon; Knoxville's Merle FM, and WDVX, WKVL Alcoa, TN; Calhoun, GA's WJTH to name a few. Several online radio stations have also picked up his music. He performs regularly at music venues, festivals, malls, restaurants, churches, television, radio, charity, corporate, and private events.
“I work hard at songwriting and getting my music out there each day. I’m excited about the opportunities I’ve had so far, and look forward to what’s next! I’m blessed and thankful for the strong support of my family, friends, and fans. I couldn’t do it without you!” Hopkins said.
