
Thursday marked the return of The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival that has been on hiatus since 2019. The festival which is located in Manchester, TN is located on a 700+ acre farm providing attendees a unique experience allowing four days of live non-stop music featuring 150+ artists across 10 stages. WFMC Jams was on site all weekend providing live coverage and artist interviews for its fourth year.
The DJ Doctor talked with Briston Maroney a few hours before going on stage at That Tent on Friday. Briston, originating from Georgia, grew up in Tennessee. Music, particularly Bluegrass, became his interest in his younger years with an influence from family, starting out playing in local festivals. He would go on playing for years and eventually become a participant in American Idol. Growing from that experience, his latest album release titled "Sunflower" is being promoted as part of summer tour which major venues including Bonnaroo, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Firefly Music Festival. The DJ Doctor had the chance to talk with Whiskey Myers after their set today at That Tent. The band is currently on their summer tour titled "Tornillo Tour" which includes their first time performing at Bonnaroo. The tour highlights the release of their new album Tornillo, expected to release on July 29th. The band has recently been recognized for four new RIAA Gold & Platinum certifications during their sold out Red Rocks debut earlier this month which includes:
